Homemade Mexican Seasoning
This is great on EVERYTHING, as well as Tacos, Fajitas, Burritos.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- a pinch of cayenne or more if you like it spicy!
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl add all of the ingredients.
- Mix with a whisk or a fork, until everything is incorporated.
Notes
This recipe is equal to 1 package of taco seasoning mix.
Essentially this makes 3 tablespoons.
Mexican food is non existent here. But occasionally I will see a packet of fajita seasoning in the store. But usually we have a brand here called Santa Maria. You can find many things under this brand, including a packet of fajita spice and salsa.
I like their brand of salsa, in comparison to the other “salsa messicana” that I have seen and tried around here. But, the packet of spice… I just don’t know there is something funky in it I don’t like, and it might be curry.
It just really doesn’t float my boat. So I got to thinking I needed an all around Mexican seasoning. And this recipe is just that.
