First off what are we using this roller bottle for?

So you have an essential oil blend and you want to use it, you will need to mix it with a carrier oil, so you can apply it to your skin.

Less is more when it comes to essential oils.  You do not need to use a lot of oils because they are extremely potent, so you can use a small amount, mix with the carrier oil and get the same great results.

Generally, you want to use them on your pulse points because the blood vessels are closer to your skin so you can absorb more oils.  You can also absorb more oil due to the increased blood flow and the warmth of the area.

The most popular places to use a rollerball are:

  • neck
  • wrists
  • behind the ears
  • bottoms of feet
  • temples
  • chest
  • back
  • belly

Note: Do not ever apply essential oils inside your ears, near your eyes, or on mucous membranes because it can cause irritation.

Directions to make a Roller Ball Bottle:

Things you will need:

Directions:

  • Get your empty roller bottle and the roller top and cap and place it in front of you.
  • Add 10 drops of essential oils per 5mL you want to make.
    • You can use a single essential oil or a blend of several oils.
    • If you are following a recipe you can create the blend directly in the bottle, or you can use a bottle of already blended oils.
      • see below for a list of Dilution amounts and general guidelines from aromatherapy.
  • Put the small funnel into the top of the bottle and fill the bottle with a carrier oil.
    • This is so you don’t spill the carrier oil out.
    • Leave a little bit of space at the top to put the roller back on.
  • Carefully  Place the cap back on the bottle and Shake well.
  • Write the name of what you just made on a Label, then place it on your bottle.

Essential oils have a very long, almost indefinite shelf life, but carrier oils do not.  This roller bottle will only last as long as the carrier oil will.  Most carrier oils last for 1-2 years, but some oxidize quickly and only last 6 months.
