Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

Today is the dreaded “weigh in Tuesday”. I am either happy to say my weight stayed the same this week, or maybe I am disappointed to say I did not loose any weight this week.

Who knows.

But, I am thankful I didn’t gain any weight because Wednesday was Nicola’s birthday, and you all saw that Mortadella Cheesecake I made right? My God I love Mortadella.

My clothes are feeling different and realistically I did not hold up to my goal of doing yoga 5 days last week, I made it only 3. I skipped Wednesday because it was Nicolas birthday, and then I was destroyed on Thursday, and that left me Friday, which I did a little bit.

Saturday was our holiday Ferragosto. Basically it is a holiday for the fact that we all made it to the middle of August, no seriously it is a feast of the assumption di Maria Vergine al cielo. For my feast I made a Chicken and Pasta bake.

And Sunday, I was hungry. So my friend Katrin and I decided to go try out a semi-new restaurant called Porca Vacca. hah. That is like us saying Holy Cow. We went there with the notion to eat pizza, because they claim to have pizza stilli neopolitana. But, we both decided to have something from the grill instead. Oh my god. I had lamb chops. 6 lovely lambchops with grilled vegetables. That wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but I did top that off with 2 glasses of chianti and a portion of panna cotta. Ehhhhh, what’s a girl gonna do, you gotta live your life a little bit you know.

I did happen to find something new, Black Rice. Actually it is called Venere Risso gallo nero. But, basically it is black rice. I bought that and a red rice, I haven’t tried the red rice yet, because I am still using up the black rice that I had bought, and OH MY GOD is it good. I made it into a risotto Saturday night. And it is what they call here Integrale, so it is a good grain and should be the equivalent of eating brown rice. So I think its on the purple program haha.

Yesterday I did yoga, and as well this morning. Yesterday I made baked Cod (merluzzo) and black rice with sautéed zucchini.

Tonight, I have no idea, because it is actually cool here today, like a fall day. So I might make soup.

Also Nicola bought me a ton of little aluminum muffin baking cups. I need to think of ideas for these.

But, that is all for now.
