Exfoliating Coffee Scrub
Materials
- 10 tablespoons each of olive oil and coconut oil
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of coarse kosher salt
- .5 ounces coffee grinds
- 2 tablespoons Lemon Essential Oil
Instructions
- Heat the oils up in a saucepan until the coconut oil is melted but not hot.
- While that is heating, mix together all of the dry ingredients in a big bowl.
- Then add the melted oil into the dry goods bowl.
- Pour into 1/2 pint jelly jars.
I am always looking for new ways to make things that have a lot of chemicals and turn them into things that are more natural.
I was thinking the other day that I needed to exfoliate my skin. It is summer, and I am in the sun all the time, and that makes for some dead skin. I started looking around the store yesterday for something and I remembered that a while ago I had made a exfoliating scrub from scratch.
In short:
Exfoliating things usually are Salt and Sugar.
Coffee is a detoxifier
Lemon essential oil is a cleanser and purifier along with a skin nourisher.
Now pick a carrier oil, so I went with coconut. It appears to me to be the best for skin.. and Olive oil will moisturize and nourish you skin all at once….
I recommend using this in the shower, It is kind of messy, but this is a great way to leave your skin feeling smooth and silky!
