“Snow falling soundlessly in the middle of the night will always fill my heart with sweet clarity”
― Novala Takemoto
Christmas came and went as quick as it seems to last. Christmas eve was celebrated in close family since we were under the zone “red” here in Italy.
We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed struffoli and chocolate chip cookies and drank our hearts content in red wine and shared conversation of all kinds.
At midnight the bells tolled and we all ran into our rooms to hide because Santa “Babbo Natale” was spotted in our village. He was accompanied by sleigh bells and when he was done putting all the presents under the tree, he banged on our door loudly and we ran out to see what he had brought for us.
We all made out like bandits!
We were not able to see the “Christmas Star” conjunction of Jupiter and Neptune, because it was over cast. But I had some people send me pictures that they found on the internet.
I have been hard at work on different crochet projects.
They had been talking about snow here, but you know how that goes. You never know if it will really happen or not.. Well. I woke up yesterday to a complete white out blizzard!!
So what do you do when that happens? You go running outside to see just how deep the snow really is!
And after the blizzard and wind was over, I took the doggies outside to see the snow.
And of course, I went and had a snowball fight and a trek to town through the snow. It was over a foot deep. It was awesome.
Today I felt an earthquake for the first time in my life. I heard an odd grumble rumbling noise and then for a second I thought to myself “is the house moving?” and then it really started shaking, almost like floating. Craziest thing I have ever felt, and it as over as quick as it began.
Then it started snowing again. Crazy crazy crazy!
