Usually the first and third wednesday there is a market in town. This is the first one since the stupid quarantine. I was going to take a picture, but it is a ugly scene to look at the people with all these ugly blue masks.
Everyone I talked to today is sick of the masks, and everyone is kind of sick of it all, but I digress.
Anyways, I got up took a shower this morning, took the pups out for their mornin walk, so they can do their business, came back home and gave Rollo his seizure medicine. And Terry and I headed to town on our bikes with some money and hopes of finding good deals!
We stopped at a booth that had some clothes, she bought a pair of pants and I got a skirt, I did try on a dress and realized, I may have gained a few pounds in the past 3 months of not going outside……….. :ahem:
But, I got a pretty light grey linen skirt with pockets.. Actually Terry bought it for me 🙂 I was undecided and she said get it, and I was still undecided and she said a gift from me to you. I actually love it now that I’m wearing it around today.. I left the house and thought it was cool, but today was not a day for jeans. I was hot and wishing I would have put on a dress to begin with today. I practically live in dresses in the summer.
I found what I was looking for, which was cushions for the kitchen chairs.
I absolutely love white and blue and lemons, it is the Sicilian in me. I got 6 of those for 18 Euros.. Not bad, I only have 4 kitchen chairs, but my desk chair needed a cushion, so I stuck the other two on the chair in my office. One for the seat and one for the back. It’s pretty comfy.
I also bought a table cloth, it’s really pretty and “terrone” (southern italian) looking. This word I heard a lot here, it means person of the earth, sometimes it’s a derogatory statement, but whatever, I’m southern twice over. Born and raised in the south USA, and my family is Sicilian. Anyways, I didn’t get a picture of that yet, because it is in the wash now.
I did buy two new little porcelain bowls, that was my “unnecessary” purchase. Some women like to spend money on shoes.. I like to spend money on kitchen gadgets and tableware. I think it is money well spent.
I was going to make the chocolate cherry cake today, but, after this morning, I wound up coming home. Having lunch with the family, and that was a 3 hour lunch. That’s normal here, you know? We do not rush the ritual of eating. So as we say a lot here faccio domani (I’ll do it tomorrow). Plus I need to go to the grocery store tomorrow. But, tonight, I will make zucchini flowers. I am not sure if I will bake them, or fry them, after my dress experience today, I should probably bake everything. ha ha.
