We decided to make these salty instead of sweet. So we decided to leave out the sugar and add salt and pepper, then that didn’t work out too well, so we added water and cut down the olive oil.. and it turned out well!
- 200g farina 00
- 1 bustina lievito
- 6 uova
- 100ml olio
- 50ml Aqua
- Pizzico di sale
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups of flour
- 3 teaspoons of baking powder
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup water
- a pinch of salt
Toppings
- 4 oz Philadelphia cream cheese
- 1/4 lb of prosciutto
- 1/4 lb of mortadella
- 1/4 lb of ham
Directions
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and oil , water and mix well.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into the eggs and gently mix to incorporate.
Heat your Pizzelle Iron on medium heat.
Pour about 2 tablespoons of batter into the waffle iron and close the lid.
Cook until golden brown.
Repeat with all of the batter.
Now, place one sheet of pizzelle down on a plate, top with a layer of philadelphia cream cheese, and mortadella, or your affettati or preference. then add another pizzelle, cream cheese and affettati. then on the last pizzelle, add cream cheese and place cream cheese side down on top of the sandwhich meat. Then cut into pieces and serve.
