Beer Can Chicken Grilling Spice Mix
- 2 tablespoons gops
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 teaspoons thyme
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
Ingredients:
- Beer can chicken grilling spice mix
- 1 Whole Chicken
- 1 can of beer
- olive oil
- 1 pat of butter
HOW TO MAKE BEER CAN CHICKEN
Preheat your grill to around 375-400 degrees.
Prepare you chicken rub.
Wash your chicken and pat it dry with paper towels.
Open your can of beer, and either drink half of it, or pour half of the beer out.
Then work the butt of the chicken over the can of beer. This means the legs are on the bottom and wings up. (they also sell neat little racks for grilling these chickens)
Cover every inch of that chicken with olive oil and then season every nook and cranny.
Where the “neck” was lift up the skin, and between the skin and breast meat, stick a little pat of butter.
Take the chicken to your grill, and place it in the middle of the grill and close the lid.
After about an hour or an hour and fifteen minutes, you chicken should be ready.
Remove the chicken from the grill and carefully remove it from the beer can.
Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before you devour it!
Notes: you can use whatever type of beer you have on hand.
