It has been a while, I do know…. I will catch up…
But First, Here is a late St. Patrick’s Day Recipe!
Irish Soda Bread
3 cups All Purpose Flour
3 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 cup Chilled butter cut into 1/2 inch cubes
2 cups Buttermilk
Preheat your oven to 425*F.
In a Medium Bowl whisk both flours together and then add sugar and baking soda.
Then Add the Butter and cut it into the flour until you have pea sized pieces.
Add the buttermilk, and stir until shaggy dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until it comes together.
Shape the Dough into a 7 inch round dough ball.
Put the dough on a stone baking sheet on top of parchment paper.
Cut a large X on the top of your dough.
Bake the bread for about 40 minutes.
Take out of the oven and cool completely and slice it up and serve up with good butter (not the cheap crap)
On St. Patrick’s Day, we had a wedding here on our ranch. Two of our very good friends said their vows in our hay barn, and It was completely beautiful. I was asked to be a Bridesmaid and I was honored.. We were kinda busy for the past few weeks here getting ready for the wedding and I haven’t been keeping up with my blog. But, I’m going to get back on track!
