OMG SNOW.. just kidding.. it was a dusting

Zeus was scheduled for his lipoma removal on Wednesday… and we had snow..  I got a call from the vet about 8am, and they said the snow had hit them and it was on its way towards me… So sure enough, It hit about 10am. Just in time for a snow day from work! I drove to the office to go ahead and cancel/reschedule all the appointments for the afternoon.

We rescheduled Zeus for Friday morning.

After the snow day, my week was packed, Thursday is always a long day for me. Since I work the morgue in the mornings and my office in the afternoon, plus rescheduling all the patients from Wednesday to Thursday or Friday.

It did make the week go buy, but, I didn’t want to get out of the house Thursday morning.   I did drive my ole’ faithful Ford truck to work in case of bad spots in the road.  Alas, there were none.. so, it was a big scare for the poor town I live in.. I remember standing on the street waiting for the express bus to come, wondering why they hell I was going to work in a foot of snow.  But, that is the difference between the North and South..

Zeus LOVES yogurt!

Zeus made it through his surgery well.  I was so worried about him. I knew it was just a little surgery, but, I just worry about him like some crazed over protective mother.   He has been getting the special treatment.  The night he came home I made him an egg and cheese sandwich.. and then the next morning he got special food again.  And he is on antibiotics for a few days, plus he has a drain in his armpit!
So I have been trying to keep him quiet and comfy.  I did manage to give him his pain pills yesterday and boy oh boy was that a mistake, I couldn’t keep him quiet.  But, today I didn’t give it to him and he is sleeping a lot more. I have blankets on everything to keep his drain from dripping on the couch etc.  But he gets that removed on Wednesday and Stitches removed in 2 weeks.   The Veterinarian said that the lipoma was about the size of his fist and he was able to get it all out!  perfect.  Poor Zeus was so pitiful Friday night.  He just wanted me to sit on the couch and love on him; which I did.  I fell asleep with his head in my lap, and he woke me up about 2am crying and making a groaning noise. I felt so bad.   But, I had to drag my ass to bed, because I was on call at the hospital and had to go in 8am.

Last night, we had a few friends over and made hot wings on the grill, I really need to take pictures of that…  We have finally perfected it!

The past two days have been so nice outside, that I’ve been foraging for mushrooms and just walking around some of the non-farmed land we got..  I found where some mushrooms have been growing especially oyster mushrooms, so I have those places marked.   That is about it..
Elena and I are 14 days into the 30 challenge.  Friday we did 144 pushups and 144 squat jumps.  My arms still hurt, but my biceps are kickin’!

Rollo has been a grownup dog lately, he has been coming on the walks. As long as there is no livestock involved, he is game for being outside.
