Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

Well, the semi lockdown saga is still going on.. And maybe this lockdown took a wee bit of a toll on me. I felt like a ball of anger at the fact we were going in lockdown again. But, I focused that all in, and decided I needed more self discipline. I was talking to a friend of mine and we were talking about yo-yo dieting and all the stupid crap we have tried in the wave of trying to loose weight. But, I felt like I lost some of my mental fortitude. So I’m a goal oriented person, I need goals. and a checklist. I saw some people talking about something called 75hard. I checked out the webpage, and decided I would give it a whirl. Here i am on day 14. I am drinking a gallon of water a day, working out 2 times a day for 45 minutes. And I haven’t really changed my diet all that much, but I’m following the mediterranean diet.

The water was crazy. The more I drank water, the more I want water. I guess I was dehydrated. I have lost 6kg, and about 5 days into the drinking a gallon of water a day, my skin looked so much different. It is crazy. I’m not doing crazy workouts either. I do 45 minutes of dance, that is good for the soul, and sometimes it’s 45 minutes of yoga or barre. But, I have a new routine with the doggies. 45 minute walk outside.. Rain or shine…. wind and rain… I did it.. A while back I bought a stroller for Rollo, because if he over exerts himself he has a seizure that night. But, I let him walk as much as he wants and when he is tired, he lets me know and I stick him in his little stroller and we are on our way. He has lost some weight too and I can tell he is walking further and further each day. And Gemma! Wow, she is super excited about these walks we take. She’s a trooper, and she walks right alongside the stroller and looks up at rollo to make sure he is ok. And not to mention Gemma has lost a few pounds too haha. we were all a little chunky there.. haha

I was starting the day off with a nice walk, but, the last week the weather turned crazy, so I started doing yoga in the mornings and walking in the afternoons.

Also, I started working in a private office again. So I am building up my patient base and also made a promise to myself, that I will not work myself to death like I was doing in America. I want to keep doing the things that make me happy, like crochet and cooking and exploring.

Speaking of Crochet. I have been doing all kinds of things. My friend brought me some old crochet magazines that someone was giving away for free. I went through those and clipped out the things I wanted to keep. When I say some old magazines.. It was a HUGE box full of magazines! I love breadsticks “grisini” and I found a pattern to make a breadstick holder. I am working on that!

I’m going to *try* to get fancy with it and make it Sicilian style to match everything else. but, we shall see. I’m going to be winging it and straying from the pattern.

I also, found some Phylo dough at the store, and I want to try to make spanakopita. That might be on the agenda for tonight. I have a whole chicken in the crockpot. (you can find that recipe in my book!)

Gemma had her 5th Birthday. I cannot believe she is 5 years old already. and Rollo turns 7 this year. Wow how time flies.

All in all, everything is well here. They say we go into the Yellow zone tomorrow, which means we can eat inside of a restaurant. and go have coffee at the bar and sit at a table with a friend. and actually have human interaction!
