Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

Let me see, first off, I can’t work yet. Because I need a document from the US Embassy and guess what, it is closed, and if you call you can never talk to anyone. Imagine that.

I finally got ahold of the operator and I asked her what the hell was the deal, and she told me that the embassy is closed and not taking appointments and that I needed to send an email and no I cannot talk to anyone. I sent an email and they said they have no idea when they will be open. I’m still on an extended holiday.

So, I decided to turn the second bedroom, into a bedroom/office. So for the past week, I’ve been making changes and throwing things out and moving things around.

I need to get a rug, and some stuff for the walls, but I’m pretty happy with what I got.. and the view out of the window is amazing 🙂

I bought Rollo this stroller, (off of amazon) because he was having problems walking around after we did more than a kilometer, so I have now digressed into the world of “posh” dog mom.

So then the other day, I did the big loop, well that is what I call it, it is 14km of walking. Gemma got tired at one point and I put her in there with Rollo. I did not get a picture… Well because I have no idea why not, this may sound odd, but most of the time, my phone is on silent and I just leave it somewhere. I enjoy the me time, the mountains, river, nature, and the puppies.

I have been biking everywhere, because I would rather take my bike to the store than drive. I also need to take my driver license class and test here. Yep, I know what you are thinking. I thought it too. I’ve been driving since I was 15, what the heck do I need a drivers license test for? No idea, but, I will tell you, when I get stressed I forget stupid stuff in Italian. But, I will make it happen. I already have the book, and it’s huge, I think I have learned some new things about driving.

Rollo had his first dining experience in a restaurant. A couple of days after they lifted the quarantine we decided to go visit a friend of ours at a restaurant in town. Rollo was shocked that he got to go in the restaurant and get his own food and drink.

Look at the fascination and happiness in his eyes!

And Gemma, she is an old pro at going to restaurants, she knows exactly what to do and where to go. which is always next to me on the seat.

Working conditions at the restaurant are none other than crap.

We have all of these laws, and regulations to follow. And everyone has to wear a mask, you can’t breath in those things, and working in a kitchen behind a grill, trying to breath, is not a great recipe for health.

The guys are getting light headed and running out of the place gasping for air, and this is all ridiculous. I saw on the news where some people on bikes and runners have been passing out of lack of oxygen. Plus how can you have a bar, and not have people stand around the bar? you are only allowed to drink one beer at the bar, and stand at the bar long enough to drink it, then you have to go. It is crazy.

This is the message I put up.

I only put the mask on to go into stores, because it is mandatory. And I am staying out of the restaurant. I’m just doing behind the scenes stuff in my “test kitchen”. I went to the store yesterday a store I like to shop at, it’s got cheap little things for the house and has some cheap clothes, it is called NKD. I think it is a german based store. But, anyways, you have to wear a mask, and you have to wear gloves, you can’t try on clothes and that’s that. I was looking at the sale rack next to the dressing rooms and a lady said “I can’t try this on” I looked over and she was talking to me so, I said “yeah right here” then I saw the sign and said “oh, no you can’t”. The sign said, due to the covid-19 you can’t try clothes on, but buy them and take them home and try them, and you have 14 days to bring it back with the reciept.

We both looked at each other and I said, well that’s stupid. Bring the clothes home, cough and sneeze all over them and then bring them back so they can put them back on the shelves. We both laughed and she said she wasn’t buying anything, and I told her I didn’t blame her, and that was that.

I did buy some leopard print socks, a re-usable bag and a sons of anarchy for my honey and then headed to the health food store.

In the health food store, I bought me a big old 4kg salt lamp, some almond milks and oatmeal. Really I went there to buy the salt lamp, because they had a sale one time, and I got one for my friend for her birthday, and I remembered that they were there.

I’m trying to make this office/room zen, I got my yoga mat in here, and now the salt lamp. I’m missing a essential oil diffuser and I’ll be all set!

I am going to leave you all with this last tidbit and then go eat lunch with the family.

Get ready for cherry recipes. It is almost cherry picking season!
