Ingredients
- 4 cups of strawberries (or a bit more)
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup old fashioned roll oats
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted (1 stick)
- 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350F.
Prepare a 9×9 brownie pan, or a casserole dish by greasing it with butter.
Wash your strawberries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Core them and then cut in quarters.
In a bowl toss strawberries, sugar and cornstarch.
Pour the berries into prepared pan.
In a mixing bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt.
Melt your butter over low heat in a small sauce pan, and then add the butter to the mixing bowl, and mix well. This gets dry and crumbly, keep mixing until it is all incorporated.
scatter the walnuts directly on top of the strawberries
Scatter the oatmeal mixture on top of berries.
Place in the oven and bake for 35 minutes or until it looks golden brown and the berries are bubbly.
Serve warm.
I think this would be better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or fior di latte gellato!
