Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

It was a warm 10 degrees this morning when I awoke… Had myself a cup of coffee and a protein shake and headed off to the Morgue for some Pathology Goodness…. I wasn’t supposed to be working at all, but Thursday I put myself back on the schedule and picked up a oncall schedule for this weekend.. haha..

A friend of mine sent me a picture which made me laugh pretty hard… because If I was in charge of the body right before it was buried I would completely do this!

So after I got home from the Hospital.. I decided to move some horses around due to the Iced over water situations.. So, I put on the warmest clothes I had in my possession… One of which being super duper insulated Carhartt overalls.. (I do like to call them Over Hauls).  But, I put on two pairs of socks, my 300 gram hunting boots, a sleeveless shirt, a short sleeve shirt, a hoodie, a pair of fuzzy pants, then the overhauls.. then my carhartt jacket, gloves, scarf and beanie of sorts.

It may be 19 degrees at the time, but, I was fluffed, stuffed and almost couldn’t put my arms down.. but, this viking did not fear the weather no way….. I moved horses around and got everyone situated.. Everyone was happy…

Mainly Tattoo and Luci were in a big big pasture with a pond, that happens to have a thick layer of ice on it.. but, I did watch one of the babies standing on some ice and not fall through…
I also managed to take down the Christmas decorations, today is Befana so that’s usually when I take everything down.
While I was Re-arranging the room that the Christmas tree was in.. I found something very peculiar buried at the base of my Lemon tree…… So I saw it.. and decided I needed to dig it up…

Yeah, that is a protein bar…. Apparently Gemma or Trigger thought it is cool to save things for later..
I came home the other day and found a protein bar eaten and the wrapper in a bunch of pieces all over the floor.. and that would have been Trigger, the kitchen cabinets were also opened and ransacked….. Gemma was with me, so Trigger is the guilty one in this situation…. He hasn’t been able to get into the trash lately because I purchased a new trashcan that locks.. what a wonderful idea.  It has worked so far. Speaking of buying things. I think I need to buy a new drier because mine is not wanting to start so I have to slam it and bang on it and whisper sweet nothings before it will start…. Not that I need it right now, because the pipes are frozen to the washer…  Not my brightest idea I had today, but I decided I should wash some towels…… so there are towels in the washing machine with detergent on them and no water… se la vie….

Well, then I was inside, being bored but warm… since the kerosine heater is glowing a beautiful pale orange color warming this old damn farmhouse…  I then decided to Dehydrate some apples..
so 8 trays of sliced apples later… I am now waiting 12 hours to eat them haha..

super easy, just slice the apples with a mandolin and sprinkle with cinnamon and dehydrate on 135 for 12 hours..  After I did that and took that picture, I posted it on a Dehydrating Divas Forum (don’t laugh) and asked for recipes and Got a lot of ideas.. from soaking them in red wine before dehydrating, to a variety of liquors and making them savory to put in pot roasts…. I may try a few of their ideas next time..
Here is some of the responses:
I also would use onion and sage. So toss in a bag with powdered sage, not too much and some onion powder.”
We can also try Brandy and rum and I’m sure many of other Liquors. I love amaretto so may give that a try also”
try coconut rum and key lime rum and on and on.”
Is awesome for pineapple and pears.”

I even got a suggestion question….
Hmmm. Wonder what soaked in Kahlua would taste like?”

I wonder myself…..
I will also like to try Pineapple.. I just wonder how to slice it up… hmm, I could ask..

After this, I took a 75  question test about Gastroenterology specifically on Dysbiosis, parasitic overgrowth, SIBO, Crohn’s, Diverticulitis, GERD etc.   It was a hard test about pathologies and blood tests and specialized testing..  I made an 80, so I can live with that 🙂  Now on to Immunology..

We ate the Sausage and vegetable medley soup that I posted right before this..

And that brings us all up to speed..
