Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

I’m always looking for new ways to make things that have a lot of chemicals and turn them into things that are more natural…   I got to looking in the mirror and thought.. hmm I need to exfoliate and kill some of the dead skin since the seasons are changing..

checking out the ingredients on some exfoliators leaves me thinking about the junk that is in them..

So, I turned to handy dandy pinterest for a list of exfoliating things…..  Salt and Sugar.
Coffee is a detoxifier, Lemon essential oil is a cleanser and purifier along with a skin nourisher.

Now you need a carrier oil… so I went with coconut.. it appears to be the best for skin.. Olive oil will moisturize and nourish you skin all at once….
So here we are.. with a start..

I wound up putting all the dry ingredients into a big mixing bowl and heating the coconut oil and olive oil on the stove until the coconut oil was melted but, not hot yet, and then mixed it all with the dry ingredients and then put this in half pint jelly jars..  Viola… homemade scrub..
Exfoliating Facial Scrub10 tablespoons each of olive oil and coconut oil
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of coarse kosher salt
2 keurig coffee pods of coffee (that is all the coffee I have that isn’t espresso)
2 tablespoons Lemon Essential Oil

heat the oils up in a saucepan until the coconut oil is melted but not hot.  while that is heating, mix together all of the dry ingredients in a big bowl.  Then add the melted oil into the dry goods bowl.  and pour into 1/2 pint jelly jars.
