My honey has a beard, and I love it when his beard smells good and is soft to touch. With that being said, he has tried many many products trying to find what he likes the best, so I decided to make up some stuff for him for valentine’s day.

Beard Balm vs. Beard Oil
Now if you are thinking do I want to make a beard oil for his beard or the beard balm.. Here is a few differences between the two.
In my opinion they are really quite similar, and one would probably benefit from using both as a grooming routine. But, guys are lazy sometimes! (Don’t tell any of them I said that). But, lets talk about some of the differences.
Beard Oil is like a leave-in conditioner for the facial hair. All men, even with a short beard can see the benefits of using a beard oil. Whereas Beard Balm is more for men with a full on beard. Beard balms are ultra moisturizing, so it’s perfect in the winter or for dry skin and facial hair.
The Generic Recipe for Beard Balm Recipe
- In a double boiler over medium heat, add your coconut oil, beeswax pastilles and Jojoba oil.
- Stir frequently until everything has melted together.
- Remove the pan from the heat, and immediately pour the mixture into your glass jar.
- After the mixture has cooled slightly, but it has not hardened stir in the essential oils.
- Let the jars cool down uncovered overnight.
