I thought I would give this a whirl. I am still not super confident with the symbols that you see on a pattern. And most blogs that I try to read explaining these things have way too many adds in between the words, that reading what they have wrote becomes a headache more than trying to figure things out. But, I did find this little chart somewhere in my searches.

And here is the pattern for the snowflake!

This is the pattern that I used.
At first I thought I would be super cool and buy a yarn that looked like snow..
That was a total fail. You cannot see the stitches, and I think it needs wire to hold the edges up or even fabric Stiffener.

Then I used a 100% wool made here, that was a piece of wool left over from a baby blanket that I had made for a friend a few months back.
It as well was too soft.

But at least you can see the design in this one.
And lastly, I bought some cheap acrylic yard and got to working on that.. and that one came out ok.
But, I did learn that I was doing my single stitches and slip stitches wrong recently, and now, I am going to go back and make some more. I think these are cute little gifts to give people!

And I was looking at crochet tutorials on youtube the other day, and I came across another snowflake pattern with a pop stitch… I am going to try to do this, I started on it last night, and I am confused at the last round….

I’ll let you know how that goes…
