Copycat Steak Sauce
This is a copycat version of a steak sauce.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 orange quartered
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup dijon mustard
- 1/4 small onion chopped
- 1/2 tablespoon chili sauce
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Place all of these ingredients into a large medium sized pot.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the sauce becomes thick.
- Spoon out the garlic clove and orange pieces, and discard.
- Pour the steak sauce into a glass jar with a lid and cool on the counter.
- Use to mix in sauces or pour over your steak.
In America I had a saying, if my steak needs sauce, the steak ain’t good. And with that statement, I can say with my whole heart. Nothing beats American black angus.
Here in Italy we have good steaks, but the steaks are simply not the same as what we have in America. Steak here is not packed full of flavor like ours. And with this, brought on an idea that I needed a steak sauce, and low and behold there is not steak sauce to be found in the stores. So I had to make my own. And here it is!
