Sweet Tea… in Italia!

Italy, Amazing Food, Love and Wine Y'all!

So it is hunting season… and that means deer season..

I am one of those people that don’t waste things.. and with the new interest I have in Bone broths, I figured what the hell, lets try it out…

So after all the meat was taken off the bones I had a back bone, shoulder and some legs…

I cut them up into smaller chunks..
and added them to the crock pot..
The rest I covered with saran wrap (I HATE THAT STUFF) and then tin foil and froze them, so I can make more later on.
Here is what I did.
Ingredients:
3 lbs of venison bones with meat on it.
3 large carrots roughly chopped up
3 stalks of celery roughly chopped up
2 sweet onions quartered
1 big bunch of fresh parsley
1 chunk of Ginger root
1 head of garlic cloves removed and kept hole
I put the covered on that joker and let it go for 24 hours… on low… So last night before I went to bed I was so tired, instead of switching the crockpot to keep warm…. my dumbass put it on high.. I woke up a few times last night hungry smelling this goodness…. och.. it smelled good.
But when I awoke I found out what I had done… and everything got well done again haha Déjà vu from the chicken bone broth.. lol…
But, I was happy.. super happy to see I had extracted all of the collagen..
you can see the collage at the top of the broth here..
I love these Chinese food soup containers… I call them my fancy Tupperware.. haha  Actually these are from the Thai place in town, I usually get Pho when I go there and can’t eat the whole thing, So I wind up taking them home and I get so happy about the free plasticware.. lol..
So I have 3 of these full.. I can’t wait to eat them probably tomorrow.. I put them in the fridge for later and kept the carrots out of the mixture.. threw mostly everything else away… except some of the bones.. Zeus, Kota and Trigger grabbed some of those..
