I would have to say that the past few weeks have been disappointing…
like I’ve said before.. my unicorns don’t always shit rainbows…
and living on a farm… is just heart wrenching sometimes.. but, the happy times far outweigh the bad..
that being said, we have had a bit of a bad streak lately.. and it’s always to be expected…
I don’t want to get all involved with details, because some of them I would rather not relive..
but, I will say this…
I am not a veterinarian for a reason…
and that being said… I have started a distance learning course on breeding, genetics, pre and post-natal mares, AI and foaling course.. that is 100 credit hours…. and I’m going to be the uber-breeder after it.. hah..
On some good notes.. I think the weather has finally turned around.. which is good because my nerves were about to be shot.. all this rain… it rained for 2 months… and that just killed my mood… I haven’t felt like doing anything..
This week is the week before AQHA Worlds…. and Ragnar is having a ulcer flair up… so, he got sent up to North Carolina to get scoped.. and found out he had an ulcer that was covered with botflys…. great…. Iffin y’all remember when I got this horse, I wormed him and he lost his hair and about 250lbs.. but. the vet said this was really odd because the bots were no where else.. just onto of this ulcer in his stomach.. he said worse case scenario is that it’s cancer.. and he’s never seen what he saw in his stomach ever before.. so who knows..
Clint is on his way to Texas with the horses.. he left Friday… so, 2 days of ulcer meds and Ragnar lost his mind on the 4th course at a competition in Alabama this past weekend..
so, I called AQHA this morning to ask if I could substitute another horse that is qualified by me for the worlds on Thursday.. but, they said no, sorry for your luck…
I’m thinking thanks for that… but, whatever…
So I’m not thinking I will do so well in Texas this year… I do miss maggie… and Maggie is doing great… she went into heat and was trying to get geldings to make babies with her.. so I threw her back in the pen with the stallion for a few days.. and then put her back out with the girls…
but, I’m glad Maggie is happy and healthy 🙂
I will step onto hell bitch after world’s and never shoot off of Ragnar again… I’m thinking I’m wanting to get involved with this western dressage thing… if nothing else, just do it for fun…
That is about it around here…
