Low Country Boil

Here is how to make a great Low Country Boil!

Ingredients
  

  • 5 lbs small new potatoes or any small variety of potatoes
  • 4 packages smoked kielbasa cut into 2 inch pieces
  • 12 ears corn on the cob broken into halves or thirds
  • 5-6 lbs shrimp deveined and not peeled
  • 3/4 cup Low Country Boil Seasoning see above for recipe

Method
 

  1. Fill large stock pot about 3/4 of the way full of water.
  2. Place on an outdoor cooker and bring water to a boil.
  3. Turn to a med-high heat.
  4. Add Low Country Boil Seasoning to the water.
  5. Place the potatoes into the pot, and cook for 10-45 minute. The cooking time of the potatoes depends on how big your potatoes are.
  6. Add corn and kielbasa, cook for about 15 minutes.
  7. Add the Shrimp to the pot, and cook until they turn redish in color, usually about 5 to 6 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat and drain liquid.
  9. You can either dump the low country boil onto a table covered in newspaper, or place in a serving dish.
