in a soup pot, heat up the olive oil over medium heat.
Saute' the onions until tender, and then add the ground sausage or ground beef and cook until the meat is browned.
Add in the the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute before adding the rice.
Stir the rice until the rice has soaked up the juices and then add the broth.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients.
Bring the soup up to a boil, and cover the pot.
Reduce the heat to low, and simmer about 25 minutes or until the rice is cooked.
Check frequently to make sure the soup isn't getting too thick, you can keep adding water as needed.
