Method
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Put your butter in your 8" baking dish, and place this in the oven as the oven heats up, it will heat up the butter.
- In a mixing bowl , mix flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, baking powder and salt and whisk to mix it all together.
- Then add milk and egg to the mixture and stir to incorporate.
- In a separate mixing bowl, place the peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Mix until all of the peaches are coated.
- Carefully take the baking dish out of the oven and pour batter over melted butter, do not stir.
- Next, spoon peaches gently over batter and again Do not Stir.
- Sprinkle some brown sugar over top of the cobbler.
- Place the cobbler in the oven and cook for 40-45 mins or until batter is golden brown.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
This is for a 8" cobbler, if you want to use a 9x13" baking dish, double the recipe.
